Browsers that fall outside this specification are not blocked, but some features such as the "helper text" that displays when hovering over active icons may not be enabled. In this case, the user may still be able to login and use the Positive Pay system, but may not benefit from all the features.

ACH Services

Automated Clearing House (“ACH”) is an electronic payment system for recurring transactions. ACH allows you to closely manage your cash flow since payments, whether Credits or Debits, are typically scheduled for specific time periods of the month. With ACH services reconciling your accounts payable or accounts receivable systems can be done quickly and efficiently.

Efficiency

ACH is one of the most cost-effective and efficient methods to make and collect payments, translating into improved availability of funds and streamlined procedures that can allow your team to focus on other business matters. You also know the exact clearing date of the payment which allows you to manage your money more effectively.

Reduce the need for paper checks, and reduce the risk of check fraud or loss.

Making Payments by ACH
  • Commonly used for direct deposit of employee payroll, Federal and State tax payments, and regular reoccurring expenses.
  • Reduce the number of checks you issue for accounts payable and reduce the potential for check fraud.
Receiving payments by ACH
  • Use for the online collection of pre-authorized payments such as monthly dues, rental/lease payments and service contracts.

Electronic Data Interchange (EDI)

Electronic Data Interchange service passes invoice and payment data through the Automated Clearing House network, streamlining your accounting and cash receivable and payable functions. EDI can include data such as the sending party’s name, purchase order number or other reference information that identifies the purpose or breakdown of the payment.

Wire transfers

With Business Online Banking, you no longer need to leave the office to send outgoing wire transfers. Initiate them right from your Business Online Banking session.

  • Wire transfers can include one-time payments or repetitive transactions using pre-defined templates
  • Set dollar limits and approval requirements
  • Incoming wires that are credited to your account can also be viewed on Business Online Banking

Positive Pay

Positive Pay is a check fraud detection tool that allows you to only pay the checks that you actually issue. Each business day that checks are presented for payment against your business account will be available for your company’s review through your Business Online Banking account.

Reduce the risk of check fraud
  • Pay only the checks that you actually issue
  • A daily check report provides you the opportunity to identify fraudulent checks
  • Instructions from your company must then be provided to Mechanics Bank within the specified timeframe to reject and return fraudulent checks
  • To further automate this service, Positive Pay can be used in conjunction with our automated Check Reconcilement Service

Account & check reconciliation

Save the time and expense of manually reconciling deposits and payments. With a variety of options to choose from, Account Reconciliation and Check Reconciliation can free your team to do more productive tasks, while establishing payment and audit controls over your financial information.

Check Reconcilement Service (“CRS”) can reduce the time you spend reconciling your business checking account. Through Business Online Banking you can submit an electronic check register to Mechanics Bank with your current list of checks issued. We will then match the daily check presentments against your electronic check register. We will also provide you with daily reports on checks that are paid, unmatched and outstanding through Business Online Banking.

The Business Online Banking export feature can further automate your check reconciliation process. Simply download your account’s posted transactions to your accounting program.

Remote Deposit Capture

Optimize your deposit processing with Remote Deposit Capture, and bypass the traditional paper check payment system.

  • Send deposits from your office to the Bank electronically, using a desktop scanner, your computer and Business Online Banking
  • It’s fast, affordable, and secure 

Features

  • Remote Deposit Capture utilizes web-based technology along with a standard Internet-enabled desktop computer and check scanner
  • Both consumer and business checks can be deposited electronically through Remote Deposit Capture (some restrictions apply)
  • Remote Deposit Capture reads the amounts of the checks automatically and verifies the total amount of scanned checks against the amount you’ve entered as a deposit total
  • Once balanced, the deposit is transmitted to Remote Deposit Capture for credit to your business account

  • Improves funds availability – The potential to meet earlier deposit deadlines, the elimination of deposit concentration and the advent of image exchange can all contribute to improved funds availability
